ReplyDeleteHi, Lex. Um, I'm planning to go to Korea by the end of this year. I'm really need some advice whether is good or not to visit Korea on winter. If I made it, this would be the first winter for me. So I'm kinda nervous, I'm not going to ruin my first winter though :D
ReplyDeleteI read some of the places that attract me like Soreoksan National Park or Hallasan in Jeju, Everland Resort, Dragon Hill Spa, some local market (Namdaemun, Dongdaemun, Insadong), Gyeongbok Palace, COEX Mall, Itaewon Street. But I get mixed.
Also, since I'm a very active foreigner - I did - I plan to use most of my time to visit different places for my 8 days trip. Honestly, I didn't think those places I mention above are enough. I'm really happy if you could guide me and give some advices. I hope to visit original places in Korea and what about Jeju island? I heard some much about it but have no idea about that place on winter. Thank you :)
Hi Kinnoy,
ReplyDeleteNice to hear that you are planning a visit to Korea.
Experiencing Winter in Korea is one of the best if you never experience the winter. But please keep in mind that winter will be very cold and with snows. It might be not comfortable for 1st timer but worth it. You should never miss skiing as well.
8 days in Seoul, you probably will visit more than the 10 places suggested but of you split it out to visit other province like Busan or Jeju. You might miss some places I suggested.
You could add on with Nami Island and Jump martial art show.
As for Jeju, I would suggest visiting Jeju in other season, so that you could get most out of it. In winter, Jeju slightly warmer but very windy. If you want to visit jeju, there are still cool places to visit :)
Wish you have a great planning :)
Cheer!

hi lex...
ReplyDeletei need ur help. i plan to go korea on 20/4/13. so i will arrive in korea on 21/4/13. i plan to buy some grocery before heading to our guesthouse cause i plan to go to Jeongdongjin Sunrise Park the next day. but i am not sure how and where to buy the tix~ can u help me??
i am confuse right now~
Hi Nur Aqilah,
ReplyDeleteFew days later you will be in Korea soon!
The best way to go to Jeongdongjin Sunrise Park is to go by train!
Go to Cheongnyangni subway Station and take a train outside of the subway station, then get off at Jeongdongjin train station. It will take a while to reach the Sunrise park.
Tickets can be easily book in the Cheongnyangni train station which is just above the subway station.
I hope you find your way to the Sunrise park :)

Hi LeX,
ReplyDeleteI am currently in Seoul and in the coming long weekend, plan to explore somewhere outside Seoul (maybe Busan?). Can you advise/recommend where to go? The locals are telling me that many places will be packed and fully booked. We plan to do a 3D2N trip. Initially planned for Jeju but it was cancelled because the tour is fully booked and the prices are too high now.
Cheers,
Laine
Hi Laine,

hi,I'm going to korea on 12.3.2015 I want to know how to dress according to the weather in March.tq
ReplyDeleteMarch is the transition from winter to spring season, it may still quite cold and windy. I would suggest you prepare warm cloths like jumper, jacket, sweater or even inner wear. Winter cloth is not necessary.
DeleteEnjoy Spring in South Korea!
hi Lex, we are goin today to seoul with organised grp tonite.
ReplyDeleteIs Mount sorak cold and windy? do I need to bring along winter coat as I see the temp there is bet 11-15 C.
Good to hear that!
DeleteOn the mountain can be cold and windy, especially in this period of time due to transition of seasons. So, preparing something warmer is much better. :)
Hope you enjoy :)

ReplyDeleteHi Lex,
ReplyDeleteI’m currently spending a night in Daejeon, will return to Seoul tomorrow evening.
Do you have any sightseeing place to recommend? The weather now is quite cold so something not too far from town would be good. Thank you!
